I have never played Trials Evolution. After watching some of the let's pays of that game on YouTube, most notably from Achievement Hunter, I knew that game was a ton of fun. It seemed to be the perfect combination of challenge and fun gameplay. So I always intended to play it but with the backlog of games I had, and frankly still have, I just never got around to it. However when I saw this game pop up on the Sony store, I pre-ordered it immediately. And frankly, everyone should buy it. This game is pure fun.

Controls wise, this game has barely any learning curve. You press the right trigger to accelerate, left trigger to brake, and you use the left stick to lean your bike backwards and forwards. Those will be the controls you use most. Oh I forgot one. You press the left side of the touchpad to restart. You will be using that button a lot, too.

That's right. Despite the control simplicity, this game is very challenging. Accelerate slightly too quickly without leaning correctly and you will hit the back of your head on the pavement. Hit a landing slightly awkwardly and your poor biker will careen down the ramp with back-breaking ferocity. Your biker (who you can change and upgrade along with your bikes as you progress and meet certain challenges) will be put through a ton of pain, I assure you. Even as you complete a level your biker will usually meet a comically unfortunate end.

This game comes complete with several single player levels which will alone take you several hours to complete as each one offers bronze, silver and gold medals based on your time in addition to three unique challenges. If you make friends that play the game you may also wish to race against their times for bragging rights, which can be a rewarding if often frustrating (in the most wonderful way) endeavor.

In my opinion the content that the single player offers is alone worth the 20 dollar (digital) asking price. However, the game also offers user-created tracks which really sets it apart from other games. At the time of this review there are already over 70. This alone creates an endless amount of replayablility, and those familiar with Trials Evolution know that the user created content in these games can really be outstanding. I myself even at this early stage in the games life have tested out 3 or 4 really well made user tracks. Each track comes complete with a rating so that you know you wont be wasting your time with a poorly made level as well.

In conclusion, you will not regret this purchase. It is pure fun, offers great challenge and an amount of content that you cant beat for 20 bucks. I can assure you that it offers far more content than certain 40 dollar games that have recently come out (*cough*). Trials Fusion is a must own game!
